The new Worx WX178 AiDrill features a revolutionary design that combines three unique technologies: SafeDrive™, BitLock™ and PulseAssist™. SafeDrive™ is an electronic torque control that instantly stops the motor when the screw has reached ideal tightening, to prevent overdriving. An overdriven screw can irreparably damage the workpiece or wear the screw head, making it unusable. Overdriven fasteners strip the plug, making the anchor weak and unsafe. An overdriven bolt is likely to end up in a broken head. SafeDrive™ works with every screw size and material — from drywall to wood to metal — providing peace of mind to inexperienced users and increasing productivity in professional use. BitLock™ is a fast motorized chuck that applies 50% more bit-tightening torque than conventional chucks. It is equipped with a self-centering mechanism that avoids bit jams. PulseAssist™ provides pulsed rotation for drilling holes into hard surfaces such as ceramic tiles, without having the drill bit slip around. It also allows drilling holes in metal pipes without the need for a drill press. Finally, it drives out screws with badly worn heads. This tool is part of the expanding Worx PowerShare, one of the most versatile cordless platforms that covers power tools, lawn and garden tools and everyday life products. PowerShare's "One Battery, Expandable Power" means the same 20V battery can be used in multiple configuration to power up 40V and 80V products.
